Ravens sign three free agents

The Baltimore Ravens signed free agent running back Shaun Chapas, guard Will Rackley and tight end Phillip Supernaw, the team announced Monday.

Chapas, 26, has played six games with the Dallas Cowboys and Jacksonville Jaguars. He has two receptions for 15 yards. He played three of those games with Jacksonville in 2012, including one start. He made one catch for six yards. He also played in three games with Dallas in 2011, making one catch for nine yards. Chapas was originally a seventh-round draft pick of the Jaguars in 2011.

Rackley, 25, spent the last three seasons with the Jaguars and played 26 NFL games, including 25 starts at guard. He missed the entire 2012 season with an ankle injury during preseason. He started 11 games in 2013, missing five games with a head injury. He also started 14 of 15 games at left guard as a rookie in 2011.

Supernaw, 24, played one game for the Houston Texans last year. He spent the first six weeks of the 2012 season on the Texans’ practice squad before a right foot injury placed him on the practice squad/injured list. He originally signed with Houston as a rookie free agent in 2012.

To make room on their 90-man roster, the Ravens waived outside linebacker D.J. Bryant (failed physical), tight end Matt Furstenburg and defensive lineman/offensive lineman Cody Larsen.
