Baltimore Ravens safety Ed Reed acknowledged that he has a torn shoulder labrum that might be impacting his performance but said Thursday that the injury isn’t a big deal.
“I’m not a pitcher,” he said after practice on the team’s website. “I can still tackle. I don’t play baseball. As long as I’m not throwing, it is what it is. I’ve been dealing with it. It’s all right.”
The 11-year veteran and five-time All-Pro isn’t listed on the team’s injury report. It’s unclear when the injury occurred.
“I’m sure a lot of guys in this league have had injuries and they’re not reported,” Reed said. “That’s part of the game that fans and y’all don’t know nothing about. We have to deal with workman comp situations.”
Reed, who has 24 tackles and two interceptions in six games this season, issued a warning for teams that might try to take advantage of his injury.
“Throw at me,” he said.
