Texas Rangers third baseman Adrian Beltre returned to the lineup for Monday’s Game 4 of the American League Division Series against the Toronto Blue Jays after missing two games with a back injury.
Beltre was a late addition to the starting lineup after apparently convincing Texas manager Jeff Banister that he was ready to play.
Beltre suffered a low back strain in Game 1 while sliding into second base. He later left the game when he could barely run to first base after hitting an RBI single.
The Rangers lead the best-of-five series 2-1 and can clinch a berth in the AL Championship Series with a victory.
