Two-time Pro Bowl safety Michael Griffin officially joined the Minnesota Vikings on Monday after spending the past nine seasons with the Tennessee Titans.

A first-round pick out of Texas in 2007, Griffin played 141 games in a Titans jersey. He had one interception in 15 games last season. For his career, he has 25 interceptions.

Griffin, who was scheduled to earn $6.5 million in 2016, was released on Feb. 9.

Coach Mike Zimmer made it clear at the 2016 NFL Scouting Combine that signing another safety to pair with Pro Bowl safety Harrison Smith was pressing offseason priority.

The Vikings did re-sign safety Andrew Sendejo on March 7. Sendejo has made 26 career starts – all with the Vikings – and appeared in 63 career games.
