Pistons to target downtown arena

A downtown arena is near the top of the agenda for new Detroit Pistons executive Arn Tellem, who jumps over to the team side in August after being a player agent for decades.

Tellem and Pistons management are intent on taking the team to Detroit from Auburn Hills, Mich., the Detroit Free Press reported. Tellem, a player representative for superstars such as Derrick Rose and Anthony Davis, said this week he is excited to be a client-facing leader for the team when he leaves Wasserman Group.

There are potential partnerships to investigate – sharing the Red Wings’ new downtown digs in two years chief among them – including reaching out to Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert, a Detroit native, about establishing a separate facility used primarily for basketball.
