
The San Diego Padres agreed to a contract extension with second baseman Jedd Gyorko, according to multiple reports.
The team is expected to announce the deal Monday afternoon.
CBSSports.com reported that the extension is for six-years and worth $35 million.
Gyorko, 25, had a batting line of .249/.301/.444 with 26 doubles, 23 home runs and 63 RBIs last year. He finished sixth in National League Rookie of the Year voting.
This season, Gyorko has a batting line of .163/.229/.302 with a double, triple, home run and seven RBIs.
The new deal covers his first three arbitration-eligible years and first year of free-agent eligibility.
