Free agent guard Toney Douglas signed a one-year deal with the Indiana Pacers.
President of basketball operations Larry Bird said in a press release that Douglas would compete for a roster spot in training camp.
“He’s a veteran player who’s a good pro and he can play two positions. He’s the type of player we’re looking for with our new style of play. We look forward to working with him and having him in camp,” Bird said.
Douglas is entering his seventh season in the NBA. He was drafted by the Los Angeles Lakers 29th overall 2009 and has played for the New York Knicks, Houston Rockets, Miami Heat, Golden State Warriors, Sacramento Kings and New Orleans Pelicans.
He has career averages of 7.6 points, 2.2 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game.
