COLUMBUS, Ohio — Urban Meyer has an idea who will start at quarterback for unbeaten top-ranked Ohio State at Rutgers on Saturday. He’s not ready to share the idea.
Meyer could announce Tuesday that J.T. Barrett will take over the starting job Cardale Jones held for the first six games of the season.
“I think so,” Meyer said when asked if he knows who will start. “I want to make sure I visit with everybody.”
Jones was replaced by Barrett in the third quarter of Ohio State’s win over Penn State. Barrett had 102 rushing yards and two touchdowns and threw two TD passes.
Barrett said Saturday he changed his mindset, and stopped forcing the issue in an attempt to make plays.
