Greg Oden, a former No.1 overall pick in the NBA draft, reportedly is trying to hook on with a team in China.
He will take part in a one-week workout with Jiangsu Kentier later this month in hopes of signing a one-year contract, according to Sportando.
Oden, a 7-foot center, played one season at Ohio State and helped lead the Buckeyes to the national championship game. He was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2007 NBA Draft, one spot ahead of Kevin Durant, who was drafted by the Seattle SuperSonics.
Oden has played just three NBA seasons, thanks to seven knee surgeries — three of them microfracture procedures.
Oden attempted a comeback in 2014 with the Miami Heat, playing in 23 games. He worked out with the Dallas Mavericks and Charlotte Hornets earlier this summer.
In three NBA seasons, Oden averaged 8.0 points and 6.2 rebounds.
