Nuggets’ Nurkic undergoes knee surgery

Denver Nuggets center Jusuf Nurkic had surgery to repair a partially torn left patellar tendon on Wednesday.

Dr. Neal ElAttrache handled the procedure at the Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic in Los Angeles.

The 7-foot, 280-pound Nurkic completed his first season with the Nuggets, averaging 6.9 points, 6.1 rebounds and 1.1 blocks in 62 games. The 2014 first-round draft pick started 27 games and was named to the NBA’s All-Rookie second team.
