The Denver Nuggets exercised the third-year options on guard Gary Harris and center Jusuf Nurkic for the 2016-17 season.
Harris, the 19th overall pick of the 2014 NBA draft, averaged 3.4 points and 1.2 rebounds in 13.1 minutes per game as a rookie in 2014-15. He is averaging 11.3 points, 2.3 rebounds and 1.67 steals while shooting .500 (5-for-10) from beyond the 3-point arc through the Nuggets’ first three preseason games.
Nurkic, the 16th overall pick of the 2014 draft, averaged 6.9 points, 6.2 rebounds and 1.10 blocks in 17.8 minutes per game as a rookie and earned a spot on the NBA All-Rookie Second Team.
Harris and Nurkic were acquired by Denver in a draft-night trade with the Chicago Bulls on June 26, 2014.
