Dr. James Andrews informed Houston Rockets guard Patrick Beverley on Monday that he will not need surgery on his injured right knee, according to ESPN.com.
Beverley told reporters Saturday night that he was confident he would return this season, despite having a torn meniscus.
Still, Beverley will miss about two weeks. The Rockets are fourth in the Western Conference playoff race with less than a month left in the regular season.
Beverley was injured during last Thursday’s win over the Philadelphia 76ers. Jeremy Lin is starting in his place.
The Rockets are also without center Dwight Howard for at least another week with an ankle injury.
