Point guard Rajon Rondo will leave the Dallas Mavericks without a playoff share.
After the Mavericks were eliminated in five games by the Houston Rockets, the team was left to divide the $208,940 that goes to losing teams in best-of-seven first round series. Rondo apparently will get none of that.
According to reports, the other 14 players on the roster didn’t vote him out of a share, but he wasn’t included on the list and no one raised objections.
A back injury sidelined the 29-year-old Rondo during Game 2 for the remainder of the series against the Rockets, limiting his contribution.
Last week, the Mavericks and Rondo, who joined the team from the Boston Celtics after a December trade, agreed on a mutual parting. He becomes a free agent this summer.
In 68 games this season for the Celtics and Mavericks, Rondo averaged 8.9 points, 7.9 assists and 5.5 rebounds.
