Houston Texans wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins announced Sunday that he was ending his brief holdout and reporting to training camp.
Hopkins was a no-show on Saturday due to his unhappiness over his rookie contract that has two years remaining. He is slated to make $1.445 million this season and rates as one of the NFL’s biggest bargains after catching 111 passes for 1,521 yards and 11 touchdowns last season.
He reiterated his frustration over the Texans’ refusal to negotiate an extension with him in a statement released Sunday.
“I too am disappointed that the Texans organization has elected not to enter into contract negotiation to secure my future as a Texan,” the statement began. “I have expressed my sincere position regarding my contract status and with sound mind have expressed my stand to the Texans organization.
“My focus also is on the 2016 season and to help my team reach our ultimate goal. Having said that, I am returning to the Houston Texans … We are excited about returning to the team and grind this camp.”

The 6-5, 245-pound Truesdell signed with the Colts on Friday. He most recently spent time in the Arena Football League with the Portland Steel, where he recorded 15 receptions for 200 yards and eight touchdowns.
