
MIAMI — Setting a franchise record for field-goal percentage, the Miami Heat rolled to a 129-111 win over the Chicago Bulls on Tuesday night at American Airlines Arena.
The Heat shot 67.5 percent, the best mark in the NBA this season.
Hassan Whiteside had 26 points, 14 rebounds and four blocks, all game highs. It was his sixth consecutive double-double. Joe Johnson, making his home debut for Miami, scored 24 points. Luol Deng, a former Bulls standout, had 20 points. Goran Dragic had a double-double with 17 points and 11 assists, and Dwyane Wade added 18 points and seven assists.
Put it all together, and it was the highest-scoring game of the season for Miami.
Derrick Rose, who returned after missing three games with a hamstring injury, scored 17 points for Chicago.
Hornets 126, Suns 92
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Kemba Walker scored 26 points in three quarters and Charlotte extended Phoenix’s road losing streak to 16 games.
The Hornets took care of business quickly, racing to a 21-6 lead in the first seven minutes and going on to lead by as many as 27 in the first half. They pushed the lead to 43 in the second half in winning for the seventh time in the last nine games.
Alex Len led the Suns with 18 points and 12 rebounds.
Trail Blazers 104, Knicks 85
NEW YORK — Damian Lillard scored 30 points and surging Portland rolled to its 10 win in the last 12 games.
Lillard scored 24 points in the first half as Portland took an eight-point lead. He helped the Trail Blazers seize control by scoring 11 straight points in a span 1:50 and 14 of their final 16 at the half.
After Lillard dominated the latter stages of the second quarter, C.J. McCollum helped Portland get further separation in the third. He scored 13 of his 25 points in the quarter and made three key plays once the Knicks got within six late in the quarter.
Carmelo Anthony scored 23 points for the Knicks, who lost for the 15th time in their last 18 games.
