The Kansas City Royals requested unconditional release waivers on second baseman Omar Infante on Tuesday.

The White Sox recalled right-hander Chris Beck from Triple-A Charlotte for Tuesday’s game at Boston. Beck was recently converted to a reliever and posted a 1.93 ERA over his past seven appearances in which he threw two or more innings four times.

Putnam, 28, is 1-0 with a 2.30 ERA and 30 strikeouts over 25 relief appearances with the White Sox this season. He was removed from Monday’s game against the Red Sox after walking the bases loaded in the bottom of the ninth.

–Texas acquired infielder Kyle Kubitza from the Los Angeles Angels for cash considerations.

Kubitza is hitting .256 at Triple-A Salt Lake this season. He spent 19 games with the Angels last year, hitting .194.
