
The Baltimore Orioles and slugger Chris Davis have reached agreement on a seven-year, $161 million deal, multiple media outlets reported Saturday.
The contract includes a full no-trade clause and there is no opt-out in the deal with the first baseman, which is pending a physical, according to MLB.com.
Davis, 29, filed for free agency after the 2015 season and balked at an earlier offer made by Baltimore reportedly worth about $150 million.
Davis, who has been with the Orioles since 2011, hit 47 home runs with 117 RBIs last year and has 126 homers in the past three seasons.
—The Kansas City Royals agreed to give right-hander Ian Kennedy a five-year, $70 million contract, according to multiple reports.
The deal includes an opt-out clause after the first two years. Kennedy still needs to pass a physical.
Kennedy, 31, went 9-15 with a 4.28 ERA with the San Diego Padres last year. In 2011, he won 21 games with the Arizona Diamondbacks. He has also pitched for New York Yankees.
The World Series-champion Royals were looking to replace righty Johnny Cueto, who recently signed a $130 million contract with the San Francisco Giants.
—The New York Yankees avoided arbitration with right-hander Michael Pineda and infielder-outfielder Dustin Ackley.
According to reports, Pineda agreed to a one-year, $4.3 million contract and Ackley to a one-year, $3.2 million deal.
Four players exchanged arbitration figures with the Yankees as pitchers Ivan Nova, Aroldis Chapman and Nathan Eovaldi, and shortstop Didi Gregorius will head to a hearing in February unless a settlement can be reached before then.
—The Philadelphia Phillies settled their three salary-arbitration cases, agreeing to one-year deals with right-handers Jeremy Hellickson and Jeanmar Gomez, and shortstop Freddy Galvis.
Hellickson agreed to a one-year, $7 million contract after posting a 4.62 ERA and going 9-12 in 27 starts last season for Arizona. He was traded by the Diamondbacks to the Phillies in November..
Galvis received a $2 million deal after hitting .263 with seven homers and 50 RBIs last year, when he made $513,500, while Gomez agreed to a $1.4 million contract after going 2-3 with a 3.01 ERA in 65 relief appearances last season, when he made $800,000.
—Right-hander Joe Kelly and the Boston Red Sox agreed to terms on a one-year, $2.6 million contract to avoid arbitration.
Kelly went 10-6 with a 4.82 ERA in 25 starts this past season. He finished strong after a rough start, going 8-0 from Aug. 1 before being shut down on Sept. 9.
