Six days after Missouri quarterback Maty Mauk was reinstated, the junior was suspended for the remainder of the season for disciplinary reasons, the school announced Sunday.
Mauk started the first four games this season and helped Missouri to a 3-1 record before the first suspension that lasted four games for a violation of team rules.
The Tigers (4-4) have lost three of four games since his initial suspension and face No. 24 Mississippi State (6-2) on Thursday night in an SEC game.
Mauk’s replacement will continue to be Drew Lock, who started all four games while Mauk was suspended the first time.
The school refused to provide additional details on Mauk’s latest suspension.
Mauk passed for 654 yards, six touchdowns and four interceptions this year while completing 51.8 percent of his attempts.
Lock, meanwhile, has thrown for 763 yards, three touchdowns and three interceptions in eight games, including four starts, while connecting on 50.7 percent of his passes.
