Defensive end Walter Brady was dismissed by the Missouri Tigers for an undisclosed violation of team rules, while defensive tackle Harold Brantley is no longer with the team due to academic issues.

Team spokesman Chad Moller made the announcement the day before the Tigers’ first scheduled practice on Thursday.

Brady was a freshman All-American in 2015, starting nine games and tying for the team lead with 7.0 sacks. He led all SEC freshmen in sacks and tackles for loss (12.5), and was rated as the No. 7 sophomore defensive end prospect in the country by NFLDraftScout.com.

Brantley was working to return from multiple injuries in a car accident in June of 2015 that sidelined him all of last season. He underwent surgeries for a broken leg and torn knee ligament. Brantley had 54 tackles and 5.0 sacks in 2014, and was expected to be a significant contributor in the defensive line rotation this season.

New Tigers coach Barry Odom said in the spring that Brantley was taking classes to secure his eligibility. Brantley had been rated as the No. 12 senior defensive end prospect by NFLDraftScout.com.
