Minor-leaguer Singleton suspended 50 games

Houston Astros Minor League first baseman Jonathan Singleton has been suspended for 50 games by Major League Baseball for a violation of the Minor League Drug Prevention and Treatment Program.

Singleton is currently on the roster of Double-A Corpus Christi of the Texas League, and the suspension will go into effect at the start of this season.
He hit .284 with 21 homers for Corpus Christi last season.
