With third baseman David Wright injured, the New York Mets recalled infielder Danny Muno from Triple-A Las Vegas on Friday and optioned right-hander Rafael Montero to Vegas.
Muno, 26, was hitting .235 in his first six games with Las Vegas. The switch-hitter is expected to split time with right-handed-hitting infielder Eric Campbell until Wright returns from a hamstring injury.
Montero, 24, appeared in four games as a reliever with the Mets, tallying a 4.15 ERA.
