The New York Mets activated second baseman Dilson Herrera and former closer Bobby Parnell from the disabled list on Thursday.

The team also placed right-hander Dillon Gee on bereavement leave after the death of his grandmother, and infielder Ruben Tejada was placed on paternity leave.

Herrera had been on the DL since May 15 with a fractured right middle finger suffered during a pregame fielding drill. Herrera has hit .235 with a home run and three RBIs in 10 games.

Parnell, coming back from Tommy John surgery performed in April 2014, struggled during his minor-league rehab stint (11.57 ERA) and will not return to his former role. Right-hander Jeurys Familia has 17 saves and a 1.30 ERA this season.

Also, the Mets were waiting to hear more Thursday about the condition of rookie catcher Kevin Plawecki, who has been experiencing dizziness and underwent an MRI and CT scan on Wednesday. He experienced vertigo symptoms last season while in the minors.
