The Dallas Mavericks signed free-agent center JaVale McGee on Thursday to an undisclosed contract.

The 7-footer played in just 23 combined games last season for the Philadelphia 76ers and Denver Nuggets, averaging 4.6 points and 2.7 rebounds. He was waived by the 76ers in March after arriving from the Nuggets in a trade two weeks earlier.

Drafted in the first round in 2008 by the Washington Wizards, McGee has career averages of 8.4 points, 5.5 rebounds and 1.8 blocked shots in seven seasons with the Wizards, Nuggets and 76ers.

With McGee’s signing, the Mavericks are now at the maximum offseason roster limit of 20 players.
