Maryland has lost a second quarterback for the season after an MRI on Monday revealed that freshman Perry Hills suffered a torn anterior-cruciate ligament in Saturday’s loss to North Carolina State.
Hills had replaced C.J. Brown, who sustained a torn ACL in August.
“I am very disappointed for Perry,” coach Randy Edsall said in a statement released by the school. “I was proud of the way he stepped in this season and led our team. Perry is a great competitor and I know how strongly his teammates feel about him. We will do everything we can to support him through the rehab process.”
The Terps’ new quarterback will be either Caleb Rowe or Devin Burns, who was a wide receiver to start the year.
