Marrone hires former Syracuse assistants to help in Buffalo

The Buffalo Bills coaching staff will have a decidedly Orange look thanks to new coach and former Syracuse head coach Doug Marrone.

On Tuesday, Marrone hired four former Syracuse assistants as he rounded out his staff in Buffalo.

Greg Adkins will coach tight ends, Tyrone Wheatley will work with running backs and Donnie Henderson is in charge of defensive backs. In addition, Jason Rebrovich will oversee defensive quality control.

The newly hired coaches will reunite with Nathaniel Hackett, another former Orange assistant under Marrone. Hackett was recently hired to be the Bills offensive coordinator.

Also joining Marrone in Buffalo will be several assistants who have ties to Bills new defensive coordinator Mike Pettine. Jim O’Neil (linebackers), Samson Brown (defensive backs) and Anthony Weaver (defensive line) worked under Pettine while with the New York Jets.
