The Orlando Magic on Thursday sent forward/center Kyle O’Quinn to the New York Knicks in a sign-and-trade deal.
In return, the Magic received cash and the option to swap second-round draft picks in 2019.
The Magic also officially signed C.J. Watson to a three-year deal reportedly worth $15 million. O’Quinn’s deal is worth a reported $16 million over four years. O’Quinn and Watson reportedly agreed to the deals on July 4.
Watson, 31, is a career 38.3 percent shooter from 3-point range. He most likely will back up second-year point guard Elfrid Peyton.
Last season with the Indiana Pacers, Watson averaged 10.0 points, 3.6 assists and 1.8 turnovers in 57 games.
O’Quinn played in 51 games (17 starts) with Orlando last season, averaging 5.8 points and 3.9 rebounds.
A second-round pick in 2012, O’Quinn appeared in 177 games (41 starts) with Orlando, averaging 5.4 points and 4.4 rebounds.
