A hip injury may keep standout running back Marcus Lattimore out of No. 9 South Carolina’s SEC East showdown Saturday at No. 3 Florida.

Gamecocks coach Steve Spurrier said Lattimore didn’t practice Tuesday or Wednesday and that his status is uncertain. If he’s unable to play, Kenny Miles likely would be his replacement.

“I don’t know how to list him,” Spurrier said. “I’m not sure if he’s even going to be able to play.”

Running backs coach Everette Sands told The State newspaper that Lattimore might be able to back up Miles, who has seen limited action this season.

Lattimore has rushed for 584 yards and 10 touchdowns this season.
