The Los Angeles Lakers signed No. 7 overall draft pick Julius Randle on Sunday.
Randle, a 6-foot-9 power forward, was expected to play in Sunday’s Summer League game in Las Vegas against the New Orleans Pelicans.
Randle, who spent one season at Kentucky, averaged 15.0 points, 10.4 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 0.8 blocks in 30.8 minutes in 40 games (all starts). He was named SEC Freshman of the Year and selected to the First Team All-SEC, SEC All-Freshman Team and SEC All-Tournament Team.
The 19-year-old led the nation with 24 double-doubles and helped Kentucky reach the NCAA title game.
