
New York Knicks power forward Amare Stoudemire reportedly will miss the start of the season with a ruptured cyst in his knee.
The Knicks will be without Stoudemire for 2-3 weeks, according to New York Newsday.
The injury added to a tumultuous offseason that included is offseason recovery from a hand injury he suffered while punching a fire extinguisher case during last April’s playoffs, a gay offensive tweet that cost him a $50,000 fine from the league and a bruised that kept him out of the first preseason game.
— Pistons forward Corey Maggette will have an MRI on his calf within the next few days, the Detroit Free Press reported. He strained the calf against the Heat last week.
The team said it was a precautionary MRI.
