The New York Knicks on Monday re-signed veteran forward Lou Amundson to a one-year contract worth about $1.65 million.
New York acquired the UNLV alum in a midseason trade with Cleveland last season. The 32-year-old Amundson started 35 games and while not a threat on the offensive end, provided some defense and hustle for a team that lacked both. He averaged 6.0 points and rebounds per game for the Knicks last season.
Amundson’s role probably will be that of a backup since the Knicks signed free agent center Robin Lopez last week.
