Knicks’ Christmas streak ending

The NBA on Wednesday will release its television schedule and for the first time in seven years Christmas Day programming will not include the New York Knicks.

The Knicks have compiled a 22-28 record on Christmas. They had played in six straight Christmas Day games, but after last season’s debacle, their appearances on TV this season are certain to be slashed.

While on their way to a franchise-worst 17-65 record last season, the Knicks were featured on Dec. 25 in a game that was marked by Quincy Acy trying to ignite a fight with Wizards superstar John Wall in a lopsided New York loss.

One of the reported Christmas games pits the Warriors against the Cavaliers in a rematch of the NBA Finals.
