
Brooklyn Nets guard/forward Sergey Karasev was diagnosed with a dislocated patella and a torn MCL in his right knee and will undergo season-ending surgery Friday.
Karasev also has multiple loose bodies in the knee joint from the injury suffered in the fourth quarter Wednesday night, Nets general manager Billy King announced.
Karasev started 16 games earlier this season, but had seen his minutes in the rotation diminish. The 19th overall pick in 2013, Karasev was acquired in an offseason trade with the Cleveland Cavaliers and has averaged 4.6 points and 2.0 rebounds in 33 games.
—The Golden State Warriors recalled forward James Michael McAdoo from the Santa Cruz Warriors of the NBA Development League on Thursday.
McAdoo, who signed with Golden State for the rest of the season on Feb. 19, has appeared in four games with the Warriors, averaging 3.5 points and 1.3 rebounds.
The forward has appeared in 32 games with Santa Cruz, averaging 19.4 points, 8.8 rebounds and 2.06 blocks.
—The Memphis Grizzlies recalled forward/center Jarnell Stokes and guard Russ Smith from Iowa of the NBA Development League on Thursday.
Both players were sent to Iowa by the Grizzlies on Feb. 22. For Stokes, it was his fifth stint with the Energy this season and Smith’s second with Iowa and fifth overall (three with Fort Wayne) in the D-League.
In 17 games and four starts for the Grizzlies this season, Stokes is averaging 2.1 points and 1.3 rebounds. The rookie second-round pick was traded to the Grizzlies by the Utah Jazz on draft night. Smith has played in seven games for the Grizzlies this season and averages 1.4 points and 0.4 assists.
—The Toronto Raptors assigned center Lucas Nogueira to the Fort Wayne Mad Ants of the NBA Development League.
Nogueira will remain on the Raptors’ active llist, but is expected to be in uniform for the Mad Ants’ game against the Delaware 87 on Saturday. He made his NBA debut on Nov. 21, and has played a total of 23 minutes in six games for Toronto this season.
The 16th overall pick in 2013 by the Boston Celtics, Nogueira was acquired by Toronto last June from the Atlanta Hawks. He spent the 2013-14 season playing for Estudiantes Madrid in the Spanish Liga Endesa.
—Guard Toure’ Murry was signed by the Washington Wizards on Thursday.
Murry averaged 12.9 points, 6.1 rebounds, 6.0 assists and 1.6 steals in 23 games in the NBA D-League, spending time with Idaho and Rio Grand Valley.
An undrafted rookie out of Wichita State in 2012, Murry has averaged 2.7 points in 52 regular-season NBA games, spending parts of two seasons with the New York Knicks and Utah Jazz.
