TNT analyst Steve Kerr expects to be the next coach of the New York Knicks, according to the New York Post.

Knicks coach Mike Woodson’s job security was the subject of speculation all season long. New President Phil Jackson is likely to replace him after the team finished 37-45 and out of the Eastern Conference playoffs.

A source told the Post that Kerr “absolutely expects” to be offered the job. “And if he’s offered the job, he’s definitely going to do it.”

The Post also reported that Kerr discussed adjusting his schedule with TNT during the upcoming playoffs if he is named the Knicks’ coach.

Kerr has no previous coaching experience but was formerly the general manager of the Phoenix Suns and played for Jackson with the Chicago Bulls in the 1990s.

Kerr was a part of five NBA championships as a player: three with the Bulls (1996-98) and two with the San Antonio Spurs (1999 and 2003).
