The New York Jets re-signed kicker Nick Folk to a multiyear contract after placing the franchise tag on him and are reported to be interested in free-agent quarterback Michael Vick.
Financial terms of the deal with Folk were not released.
Folk, who was to become an unrestricted free agent, had one of the best seasons of his seven-year career in 2013. He made 33 of 36 field goal attempts and had three winning kicks. He connected on 23 consecutive field goals to start the season and 20 in a row at home, both franchise records.
Folk has made 81.1 percent of his field goal attempts (103 of 127) during the regular sason and 8.3 percent in all games (167 of 208).
ESPN reported that the Jets have interest in Vick, who was replaced as the starter in Philadelphia last season by Nick Foles, and free-agent quarterback Josh McCown, who successfully subbed for injured Chicago Bears starter Jay Cutler last season. The Jets are looking for a veteran to complete with second-year pro Geno Smith.
