The New York Jets will exercise the fifth-year option for 2016 on outside linebacker Quinton Coples, the New York Daily News reported Saturday.
Coples, the 16th overall pick of the 2012 NFL Draft, will receive $7.8 million next year, but the option is only guaranteed for injury.
In three seasons, the 24-year-old Coples has 105 tackles and 16.5 sacks.
