New York Jets coach Rex Ryan said in Monday’s teleconference that he is sticking with Mark Sanchez as the starting quarterback, but backup Tim Tebow could get a bigger role.
“I think Mark’s our guy, there’s no doubt about that,” Ryan said via the Newark Star-Ledger.
Ryan said that Sanchez was “fairly accurate” when he got enough time to throw.
“I think Mark gives us the best chance to win, and that’s how I feel,” Ryan said. “Can Tim be successful? … We’ll take a hard look at how we’re using him.”
Tebow only played one snap during Sunday’s 30-9 loss to the Miami Dolphins.
The Jets have a bye this week and Ryan is giving the team the week off from practice.
