The Atlanta Hawks traded reserve guard Shelvin Mack to the Utah Jazz for a second-round pick, according to Yahoo Sports.
Utah had been seeking depth at both guard positions and obtained Mack, who has averaged 3.9 points and 1.6 assists in 24 games this season. Mack, 25, has averaged 5.3 points in 247 games for the Hawks, Washington Wizards and Philadelphia 76ers.
His most productive season was 2013-14 when he averaged 7.5 points and 3.7 assists in 73 games for a 38-win Hawks team, who took the top-seeded Indiana Pacers to Game 7 of the first round. After that season, the Hawks re-signed him to a three-year contract, although the third-year salary of approximately $2.4 million is nonguaranteed.
The deal for Atlanta comes after weeks of trade speculation involving starting point guard Jeff Teague. According to Yahoo, the Hawks ended trade talks for Teague.
