The Jacksonville Jaguars on Thursday signed fifth-year punter Brad Nortman as an unrestricted free agent.
Nortman spent the first four seasons of his career with Carolina after originally being selected by the Panthers out of Wisconsin in the sixth round (207th overall) of the 2012 NFL Draft.
In 64 career games, Nortman has punted 288 times for 13,022 yards, including 91 punts inside the 20-yard line, averaging 45.2 gross yards per punt and 38.9 net yards per punt.
In 2015, Nortman recorded 70 punts for 3,175 yards, posting the second-best gross (45.4) and net (39.8) averages of his career. The 26-year-old produced the NFL’s fourth-best gross punt average (47.8) and fifth-best net punt average (41.6) in 2013, both of which are Carolina single-season records.
