The Jacksonville Jaguars added linebackers coach Robert Saleh and assistant linebackers coach Scottie Hazelton to their coaching staff on Monday.
Saleh, 35, spent the last three seasons as the Seattle Seahawks’ defensive quality control coach.
Hazelton, a veteran of 18 years of collegiate coaching experience, spent last season as defensive coordinator and linebackers coach at Nevada.
“We are excited about the two new additions to the coaching staff,” coach Gus Bradley said in a statement. “I have known both men for a number of years and I know what they will bring to our staff. Both men are extremely hard working individuals and have a passion and desire to help our team get better.”
Saleh has nine years of NFL coaching experience in all. He worked under Bradley with the Seahawks when Bradley was defensive coordinator from 2009-12. He spent six seasons (2005-10) with the Houston Texans, including the final two as the assistant linebackers coach. Before coming to the NFL, Saleh spent four seasons coaching in the collegiate ranks, working at Georgia (2005), Central Michigan (2004) and Michigan State (2002-03).
Hazleton, 40, came to Nevada after one season as Southern California’s linebackers coach. Prior to that, he spent five seasons (2007-11) at North Dakota State, one season (2006) at Michigan Tech, two years at Missouri Southern (2004-05) and two seasons at Saint Olaf College in Minnesota (2002-03). He started his coaching career at Fort Lewis College, his alma mater, for four seasons (1996-99). He then worked under Bradley as a graduate assistant for two seasons (2000-01) at North Dakota State.
