Former Milwaukee Brewers infielder Yuniesky Betancourt is headed for Japan this season, signing a guaranteed one-year contract with the Orix BlueWave of the Pacific League.
The 31-year-old played first and third base last year for the Brewers, batting .212 with 13 home runs and 46 RBIs in 409 plate appearances.
Betancourt also played for the Seattle Mariners from 2005 to 2009 and the Kansas City Royals in 2009-10 and 2012.
