Charlotte Hornets guard-forward Jeff Taylor was arrested and charged with domestic assault, assault and malicious destruction of property after an early Thursday morning incident in East Lansing, Mich.
Taylor’s bond was set at $5,000, according to WCNC in Charlotte, N.C. Details of the arrest at the East Lansing Marriott at University Place were sketchy.
“The Charlotte Hornets were made aware of the incident involving Jeffery Taylor early this evening,” the team said in a statement. “The organization is in the process of gathering more information and doing our due diligence. This is a matter that we take very seriously.”
The 25-year-old Taylor is beginning his third season with the Hornets. Last season, he played in 26 games before he ruptured his right Achilles tendon.
The No. 31 overall pick in the 2012 NBA Draft, Taylor averaged 8.0 points and 2.3 rebounds last season.
