Hokies QB Evans injured

PITTSBURGH — Virginia Tech quarterback Jerod Evans left Thursday’s game in the third quarter against Pittsburgh with an apparent right leg injury.

Evans was 16 of 26 passing for 226 yards and a touchdown, and rushed for 27 yards before he was hurt while being sacked.

There was no immediate update on his status.

Evans was replaced by senior Brenden Motley.
