The Miami Heat signed forward Michael Beasley to a 10-day contract.
Beasley, who averaged 7.9 points and 3.1 rebounds in 55 games for the Heat last season, signed a one-year deal with the Shanghai Sharks of the Chinese Basketball Association in October and averaged 27.1 points, 10.4 rebounds, 5.2 assists and 1.92 steals in 37 games while shooting 51.3 percent from the floor.
He earned MVP honors at the 2015 CBA All-Star Game by scoring 59 points off the bench.
This marks Beasley’s third stint with Miami. He was the No. 2 overall pick by the Heat in 2008 and played two seasons with the franchise before being traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves in 2010.
In six NBA seasons, Beasley has appeared in 409 regular-season games, averaging 13.2 points, 4.9 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 24.9 minutes while shooting 45 percent from the floor, 34.8 percent from three-point range and 75.8 percent from the foul line.
