Atlanta Hawks forward/center Gustavo Ayon had surgery to repair a right shoulder injury on Friday, the team announced.
The surgery was performed at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta by Dr. Xavier Duralde and accompanied by team physician Dr. Michael Bernot from the Peachtree Orthopaedic Clinic.
Ayon is out for the rest of the season. He averaged 4.3 points on 51 percent shooting, 4.8 rebounds, 1.1 assists and 1.0 block in 16.5 minutes per game over 26 games (14 starts).
