Guarantano to Byrd Seals Upset for Tennessee

Going into Saturday’s game against Mississippi State, Tennessee had lost four consecutive SEC games by an average score of 41-12.

Head coach Jeremy Pruitt’s team desperately needed a win. But despite dominating the Bulldogs throughout the game, with just under two minutes remaining, the Volunteers led only 13-10 and the outcome was still in doubt.

That’s when wide receiver Tyler Byrd and junior quarterback Jarrett Guarantano took charge.

With just 2:35 left to play and clinging to a 3-point margin, Guarantano found Byrd just beyond the line scrimmage. The senior from Naples, Fla., caught the ball, broke to his left and raced down the sideline for the score.

The dramatic 39-yard scoring reception, which provided the winning margin, is this week’s U.S. Farm Raised Catfish “Catch of the Week.”

Remember … for the tailgate tent or the pre-game party, U. S. Farm-Raised Catfish is always “the winning catch.”
