Gregg Williams and his son Blake Williams are out as members of the St. Louis Rams’ coaching staff.
Blake Williams, the team’s linebackers coach this season, has told other assistants that he and his father are no longer with the team, FoxSports.com reported Wednesday.
Gregg Williams sat out this season after he was suspended indefinitely by the NFL for his role in the New Orleans bounty scandal while he was with the Saints. The defensive coordinator, who is under contract with the Rams through the 2014 season, has yet to be reinstated by the league.
Williams’ son took over some of his father’s defensive duties this season with the Rams.
Greg Williams and coach Jeff Fisher are close friends.
