The San Francisco Giants reached agreement on a minor league contract with veteran infielder Everth Cabrera on Thursday, according to a CBSSports.com report.
The Baltimore Orioles released Cabrera last month. He was batting .208 with no home runs and four RBIs in 29 games.
The 28-year-old Cabrera had signed a one-year, $2.4 million contract with the Orioles before the 2015 season after six years with the San Diego Padres.
In 2013, Cabrera was named to the National League All-Star team but was suspended for 50 games that season in the Biogenesis investigation. Last year, he was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence.
The switch-hitting Cabrera has a .246 career batting average with 138 stolen bases.
