CHICAGO — With the first pick in the second round of the 2015 NFL Draft, 33rd overall, the New York Giants dealt up for Alabama safety Landon Collins on Friday.

New York made the deal to jump up from No. 40 to No. 33 with the Tennessee Titans, who had passed on multiple offers for the No. 2 overall pick to draft Oregon quarterback Marcus Mariota on Thursday.

The Giants received the 33rd pick for the 40th pick, a fourth-rounder and a seventh-rounder. The pick was announced by former Giants safety Shaun Williams.

Collins’ Alabama teammate, running back T.J. Yeldon, went to the Jacksonville Jaguars four picks later.

With the 34th pick, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers selected offensive tackle Donovan Smith, who started 31 games at left tackle at Penn State. At No. 35, the Oakland Raiders picked pass rusher Mario Edwards from Florida State.
