Denver Nuggets forward Danilo Gallinari suffered a knee injury during Thursday night’s game that apparently will end his season, according to a report.

Denver’s second leading scorer has a torn ACL, Yahoo! Sports reported. The team was awaiting test results on Friday to confirm the extent of the injury.

Gallinari’s left knee buckled as he drove the lane with 4:27 left in the second quarter against Dallas. He fell to the floor and grabbed his knee in pain before being helped off the court. The Denver Post reported that Gallinari said he heard the knee pop.

Gallinari averages 16.2 points and shoots 41 percent from 3-pont range. In his absence, Wilson Chandler and Corey Brewer will be expected to fill the void.

It’s the second significant injury for the Nuggets. Point guard Ty Lawson is sidelined with a torn plantar fascia in his heel.
