Milwaukee Brewers starting pitcher Yovani Gallardo was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving, according to multiple reports, citing the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s office.
The 27-year-old was stopped at 2:10 a.m. local time near Miller Stadium because he was driving slowly and weaving. He then produced a blood-alcohol level of 0.22, nearly three times the state legal limit of 0.08.
Sheriff’s Dept. spokesperson Fran McLaughlin told ESPN Milwaukee that Gallardo won’t face jail time because this was his first offense. He’ll be fined a total of $778.80 — $300 for DUI, $300 for his level of intoxication and $178.80 for deviating lanes.
Gallardo has started poorly for the Brewers, with a 0-1 record and a 6.61 ERA through 16 1/3 innings.
Fantasy Update: Gallardo has gotten off to a slow start this season and getting a DUI doesn’t help matters. If Gallardo continues to struggle, you may need to release him to the waiver wire and find a replacement.
